Talk About Subscription Boxes - May Goodbeing Box

Hi there! Welcome back for another installment of Talk About Subscription Boxes. Today we're talking about the May Goodbeing box and I'm sharing what I received. Keep reading if you want to know what I got. You should, by the way, because I got some really great stuff!

Here's a basic breakdown for those unfamiliar with Goodbeing, so skip this if you know how it all works. Goodbeing is a monthly beauty and/or lifestyle box that focuses on natural and cruelty-free products. You can sign up for the month to month plan or purchase an annual subscription which allows you to save 15%. From there, you can choose either the Standard plan or the Mini plan. With the Mini Goodbeing, you’ll receive 2 items per month, either 2 travel size or a full size plus a deluxe sample. This plan has an average value of $15-$20 but will vary month to month. The Standard plan has an average monthly value of $40-$50 and comes with 4-5 items per month in a mix of sizes that can be full size or deluxe sample sized. And, as an extra (awesome) perk you get to choose 1 or 2 items yourself each month. You can truly customize your Goodbeing experience to make it what you want it to be. You start off by filling out a detailed member survey about product preferences and concerns. Click here to check out the different plan options and how it all works.

This month I received: Andalou Naturals Argan Stem Cell BB Benefit Balm Untinted SPF 30, The Starfish Project Mariah Gold Nugget Round Stud Earrings, Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Luminous Lip Crayon in Malibu, Bug Protector Bug Protector Tick Repellant Spray, and Shamanuti Sunbutter.

The first item I picked was the Andalou Naturals Argan Stem Cell BB Benefit Balm Untinted SPF 30. I was intrigued by the idea of an untinted BB Cream and since I've been on a hunt for some good SPF products I can wear all summer I was really excited to see the one on the selection list. This is a full-sized, 2 oz, product with a value of $19.95. It has a very slight citrus scent but it isn't too strong or overpowering. I haven't played around with this very much yet since it's been raining like crazy here but I'll be sure to let you know more about it soon. I have dry skin and this one is best for oily and overactive skin but I bet it will still work well for me.

I also selected The Starfish Project Mariah Gold Nugget Round Stud Earrings. This month there were so many beautiful pieces of jewelry to pick from. There were earrings, bracelets, and necklaces and they were all quite pretty. I selected these earrings because I thought I would get the most wear out of them and they're very cute in person. I love what this company stands for and their mission is truly wonderful. You can learn more about The Starfish Project by clicking here. The items members could select from range from $19.99 to $60. These particular earrings have a price of $29.99 on the back of the card they came on but my Goodbeing page says they have a value of $58.

I was most excited about the surprise of the Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Luminous Lip Crayon in Malibu. I haven't tried very much from Juice Beauty but their cosmetics always catch my eye and this lip crayon is stunning. The color is perfect for the summer, but really great no matter the season, since it's a nude pink. I love the color so much! The formula is really beautiful, too, since it's creamy but lightweight. This scent-free chubby crayon feels a lot more like a hydrating balm than a lipstick but it's the best of both worlds. It feels great and it looks great, too. This is one of my favorite items from Goodbeing yet! This is a full size coming in at $22.

I'm terrified of ticks. Shouldn't we all be? I received the Bug Protector Tick Repellent Spray, a 2 oz deluxe sample with a value of $3.99. It's specifically formulated to repel the Dog Tick and the Deer Tick. I haven't tried it yet but I will probably take it with me when we go camping this summer. I also really love the fact that I can also use it on my dog's fur to keep him protected.

Finally, I received two foil packets ($3) of Sunbutter from Shamanuti. This technically isn't marketed as a sunscreen but it is a moisturizer that blocks UVA and UVB rays with the equivalent of SPF 15 thanks to  Zinc, Titanium Dioxide, and B Vitamins. It can be used on face and body. I love the ingredients and I think this moisturizer is really great. I'm even thinking about buying a bottle of it.

My May Goodbeing has a value of $78.93, which is awesome and I'm really pleased with everything! Which items interests you most? Let me know in the comments!

If you’re interested in signing up, you can click here to do so. With plans starting at $9.95 you’re bound to find an option that works for you whether you’re wanting to try out the beauty box or the lifestyle box. The box ships within the US but also to Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Sweden and the UK. A subscription would also make a great gift for any beauty lover in your life.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - April 2018 Goodbeing

A lot has changed since I last posted, including the fact that I'm 31 now! I had the best birthday, maybe ever. I have been feeling so good and so happy. It's finally spring here, too, and I've been enjoying the sunshine, flowers, listening to the birds, and loving all things spring has to offer. If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I posted about needing to take a little bit of time away because I was dealing with even more pain than usual but now I'm back to myself and ready to start posting again. So, let's get to it by talking about my April Goodbeing box today.

There were so many really great choices to select from this month and I'm happy, yet again, with what I received. Spoiler alert, next month looks awesome, too!

The first item I selected this month is the kVoss NYC Lip Lover Scrub. I received the kVoss MagiK Shimmer a few months ago and sadly couldn't use it because of the scent so I was really happy to be able to try something else out from the brand. This scrub, first of all, is humungous. I've never seen a lip scrub come in anything other than a small little pot but this one comes in a 2 oz jar. It retails for $28, which seems a bit pricey at first but I think this will last for a really long time, even with frequent use. It smells like a delicious almond pastry and does a superb job of exfoliating the lips. I typically only use sugar scrubs but this one has pumice, as well, so it's even more scrubby and efficient than I'm used to. It gets off every single bit of dry skin and leaves the lips feeling soft, plump, supple, smooth and fresh. I'm loving this!

The Airbiotics StaBiotic Mist is the second item I chose to be in my box. This particular product is a new find, and obsession, but I've loved Airbiotics for a while now.  I loved this travel bottle so much, in fact, that I ordered a big bottle of it this weekend and I'm looking forward to it arriving so I can use it all over my home. This product, and every other product I've tried from this brand, has no smell at all and works to clean, protect, and freshen your home. It helps minimize allergens and control odors. My dog, Cooper, is unwell and had to go to the emergency vet last week so he can't have a bath. He's way past due but I used this spray on him (it says you can and they even make a separate pet spray) and it made him smell almost clean. He didn't even mind the fine mist. This is a wonder product. I'm also obsessed with their Probiotic All Purpose Cleanser and their Probiotic Natural Hand Cleaner. Their products are basically just water and probiotics. They are so cool!

I was really happy to find the Pure Anada Black Mascara in my box, too. I've only tried a single lipstick from Pure Anada, and I really liked it, but I'm always looking to test out more natural makeup. I currently have a mascara open so I haven't tried this one yet but I am so impressed with the tube itself. It feels incredibly luxurious. It's made of a weighty metal and it seems lavish. It has a beautifully simple ingredients list (Water, Rice Bran Wax, Olive Oil,  Cetyl Alcohol, Carnauba Wax, Candelilla Wax, Vegetable Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Acacia Gum, Iron Oxide, Aminomethyl Propanediol, and Phenoxyethanol) and is designed to build volume and length. I'm looking forward to trying it.

I also received Eco Armour Shaving Foam in Mint + Eucalyptus. I've tried this before, maybe from a Goodbeing years ago or maybe another subscription box? I'm not sure but either way, it's nice. It smells fresh and a bit earthy. It's nicely moisturizing and works great for shaving. I don't typically use shaving aids like this because I stick to an electric razor or my typical soap/shampoo/conditioner. I hate shaving so I don't like to make it an extra step and add in additional products, if that makes sense. You use it quite differently than you would a normal shaving product and I think it's really interesting. It works as a barrier on both skin and the razor. Very neat.

And finally, I found a snack sized bag of Lesser Evil Himalayan Pink Salt Organic Popcorn in my box. I don't eat popcorn but my Dad loved this.

In total, my box had a value of $77.60 and I'll absolutely use every item I received.

You can also find Goodbeing on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - March Goodbeing

My March Goodbeing box arrived last Saturday and I have had so much fun with this one. It's one of the best boxes I've received thus far. Let's just jump right in because there are a lot of good things to talk about in this edition of Talk About Subscription Boxes!

This month I selected the Bellápierre Cosmetics Mineral Foundation. This finely milled, slightly shimmery mineral powder has SPF15, is Leaping Bunny certified, made with great ingredients and is totally vegan. This is somehow not their full sized foundation. It's 4 grams, worth $28.88, and their full size is 9 grams, $65. That's just insane to me! This is huge, so the fact that it's not their full-sized product just blows my mind. This is more than generous and will last me a very long time. I would normally be the shade Ivory but I decided to go for a much darker shade, Maple, to use as a bronzer/darker summer setting powder. I was actually unfamiliar with the brand (although it's one of the fastest growing mineral makeup companies in the world!) but I'm really enjoying this Mineral Foundation and I know I'll get a ton of wear out of it. It looks so natural and totally gorgeous on the skin. I'll absolutely have to check out some other Bellápierre Cosmetics stuff in the near future.

I was really excited to see the Emani Starstruck Lip Shine in my box because I haven't tried any Emani products and this lip gloss is beyond beautiful! It's funny, though, because I normally don't wear lip gloss. I used to when I was younger but I typically can't stand the goopy, wet, sticky feeling on my lips. However, there is something about this particular gloss that makes it really enjoyable. It's a gorgeous color, made with nurturing and soothing ingredients, that feels really great once applied. It's a bit heavier than the lipstick formulas I normally reach for, obviously, but I don't seem to mind wearing this one. I think it will look particularly stunning when there is actual sun outside and can truly sparkle and shine.

The other item I selected is the Shea Radiance Black Soap Antioxidant Body Wash in Unscented Pure. This 2 oz perfectly sized for travel body wash is really great, it's gentle, thanks to Shea Butter and Colloidal Oatmeal, but cleanses thoroughly. Shea Radiance is focused on creating products using natural, effective, concentrated active ingredients, like Shea Butter, to help defeat dry skin and eczema related skin problems. That sounds great to me since I have both dry skin and eczema. They also have an incredible story and mission behind their brand, so click here to check that out.

This is them still in their package. They start off really hard but when you soak them they get really soft and plush.
I also received the Art Naturals Konjac Facial Sponge Set. This $10 duo is comprised of a naturally white one, perfect for daily use, and one infused with Black Charcoal, designed for a deeper once a week cleanse. I've experimented with Konjac Sponges in the past and they're pretty great. They gently exfoliate, open pores, and help cleanse the skin better than just using your fingers or hands. I'll keep you updated on these.

Finally, I received a foil sample of Bedrock Balm from Bedrock. I haven't tried this yet but it sounds wonderful since it is made of Zinc Oxide, Lavender, Calendula, Chamomile and Vitamin E. It sounds soothing and hydrating, two things I love.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - Feb. 2018 Goodbeing

Every time I open my mailbox and find my Goodbeing box waiting for me inside I’m reminded just how quickly time goes. This year is already flying by, and to quote a great song from my past, “the years start coming and they don’t stop coming”. Maybe once you hit 30 time starts moving more quickly. Or maybe having a monthly subscription box just makes you notice it more. Who knows!

Anyway, skip this paragraph if you’re already familiar with Goodbeing, but if you’re not then check it out because this a basic breakdown for those unfamiliar with the service.

Once again, I forgot to take a screenshot of the choices so let’s just nix that idea because I didn’t do it when I chose my products for next month either. I have marked my picks with a *.

I received: Z Skin Cosmetics Neck Firming Cream*, Curandera Remedies Mysore Herbal Salve*, Au Naturale Créme De La Crème in Ivory, Sahajan Restorative Eye Cream, Plaine Products Shampoo, and ReChoc Reservatrol Dark Chocolate.

I selected the Z Skin Cosmetics Neck Firming Cream thinking it would be perfect for my super dry neck. They say the first parts of your body to show signs of aging are your neck and your hands, and even though I’m not super worried about fighting signs of aging (it’s going to happen regardless of how we feel about it) I am interested in taking care of my skin. I must admit that I don’t take very good care of the skin on my neck. I was excited to try a product specifically designed for the skin on the neck but I’m not in love with this. It has more scent than I thought it would so I’m going to have to pass it on. This is a full-sized product coming in at $19 for 1 fl. Oz.

I chose the Curandera Remedies Mysore Herbal Salve, designed to help soothes aches and pains, for my Mom, who has RA. It’s made with Olive Oil, Candelilla Wax, Arnica Infused Tea, 100% Alcohol, Essential Oil Blend (Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Orange, Ginger), and Menthol Crystals. She really likes the smell of this but has no comment on how it works yet. I’ll keep you updated. This is also a full-sized product. You get 2 oz. for $15.

The Au Naturale CrĂ©me De La Crème in Ivory was a fun surprise. Makeup is my favorite type of product to receive in any subscription box. I wish Goodbeing actually offered a monthly makeup box option. That would be so much fun! This is a gorgeous cream shadow in a generously sized deluxe sample pot. I received Ivory, which is described as a cream shade with subtle gold undertones. It’s a beautiful nude that appears to have some shine to it. It looks gorgeous on and the formula is really lovely, too. A full size is 4 grams but this is very nearly there at 3 grams. I love Au Naturale products and this one is no exception.

The 8 mL Sahajan Restorative Eye Cream sample has a value of $25.60. Unfortunately, my sample came a bit exploded but I’m not a fan of the smell anyway. The ingredients look great and it does seem very rich and hydrating, but it has parfum and I’m way too sensitive to any smells to use it.

I received a Plaine Products Body Wash a couple of months ago and received the Plaine Products Shampoo this month. I love the perfect travel sized, eco-friendly aluminum container and I think one of you will love this product so much so it’s going into my next giveaway, so keep an eye out for that!

I don’t eat chocolate but if I did I would be really interested in the ReChoc Reservatrol Dark Chocolate. It sounds great! This will also be heading directly to the pile of giveaway goodies.

That sums up my February Goodbeing experience.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - January 2018 Goodbeing

It’s time for you and I to sit down and have a little chat about the first Goodbeing box of the new year.

If you read my Goodbeing reviews each month skip over this paragraph and head directly to the next because this a basic breakdown for those unfamiliar with the service.

I decided to take a new approach this year and delete tracking numbers. Things will show up when they show up but I think it took about 3 weeks to get to me so I’m not sure if that was a good plan or not. I was stalking Instagram to see if others were getting their boxes or not and sure enough they were so I’m not sure what happened to my box but it’s here now so that’s all that matters, right?

I wish I would have taken a screenshot of all the available selections of products subscribers could choose from. I’ll have to start doing that from now on. I’ve marked my chosen products with a *.

I received: Previse Marine Granules Skin Brightening Botanical Scrub, AILA Bless Your Heart Nail Lacquer*, Elan Veda All Headache Essential Oil Blend, Gaffer & Child Facial Cleanser, Stinkbug Naturals Tea Tree Organic Deodorant Stick*, and an AILA 3-IN-1 Soy-Based Nail Color Remover Cloth. The value of my box came out to be a little over $66. The Nail Lacquer and Facial Cleanser are both full sized while everything else, with the exception of the single Nail Color Remover Cloth, is generously sized.

I really like the Previse Marine Granules Skin Brightening Botanical Scrub. I’ve read a lot about the brand since it’s made to be completely scent free since I am so incredibly sensitive to any scent, natural or not. I was really excited to receive something from them and this scrub is so gentle and easy to use. It is truly scent free and I am so interested in trying more from the brand. I’ve got my eye on their HydroFoam Rejuvenating Hyaluronic Moisturizer

There were 2 AILA Nail Lacquers in the selection pool and I went for this gorgeous peachy rose color called Bless Your Heart. It’s stunning and the exact kind of color I always go for. Does anyone else have an entire drawer full of very similar, but ever so slightly different, nail polishes? I wouldn’t have it any other way! I haven’t used this one yet, though. I only ever paint my toenails but not in the winter when my feet are stuffed into heavy duty boots so this will be put away until the snow melts and the sun starts shining. I also haven’t tried the 3-IN-1 Soy-Based Nail Color Remover Cloth, yet. AILA is 11-free, vegan, made in the USA, chip-resistant, and vegan. I can’t wait to try it!

I am so excited about this ELANVEDA All Headache Essential Oil Blend. I am a migraine sufferer, so I love things like this and this particular version smells delicious. I normally don’t like anything scented, like I mentioned earlier in this post, but this smells like sweet peppermint and anything peppermint is aces in my book. In addition to loving the scent I also happen to adore the beautiful, weighty glass bottle and rollerball. This oil is made of Eucalyptus oil, Peppermint oil, Helichrysum Italicum, Spruce oil, Lavender Spike oil, Ginger oil, Birch oil and Sandalwood oil. Personally, I’ve never found products like this to really work on my pain but I really love how they smell. I am so sensitive to the scents of people out in public that I love applying this under my nose to kind of create a barrier against perfume and other scents. I am a huge fan of this product.

The full-sized, $26 Gaffer & Child Facial Cleanser is made of Distilled Spring Water, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Green Tea Extract, Willow Bark Extract, Chamomile Hydrosol, Organic Lavender Essential Oil, Organic Lavender Hydrosol, Lemon Essential Oil, Organic Peppermint Essential Oil. I did try this one and it just didn’t agree with my skin.

I selected the Stinkbug Naturals Tea Tree Organic Deodorant Stick and love the size that arrived. It’s the perfect gym bag or luggage sized deodorant. It's also really affordable, which I appreciate. It’s made from Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Beeswax, Sodium Bicarbonate, Organic Corn Starch & Essential Oils. The Tea Tree scent is too strong for me, though, so I’ll be passing this one on. They have other scents that might be a better fit for me.

That sums up my January Goodbeing experience.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - December 2017 Goodbeing

Okay, ladies and gents, this is it! This is the very last Beautiful Basics post of 2017. I’ve shared 40 different posts this year, a little less than last year but I blame that on recent health developments. I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by. Can you? I think I say this every year. I guess we all do, though. Where exactly does time go? And, speaking of time flying by, today we’re talking about the December Goodbeing box, even though it seems like I just posted about November yesterday!

Let’s get the breakdown out of the way for those of you who may be unfamiliar with Goodbeing, a monthly beauty and/or lifestyle box that focuses on natural and cruelty-free products. You can sign up for the month to month plan or purchase a 6-month subscription (this option allows you to save a little bit of money). Click here to check out the different plan options.

This month I received: Elate Cosmetics Liquid EyeLine in Joy (full-size), Brazilian Brown Sugar with Cocoa Butter Body Polish, Jivi Moisturizer with Sun Protection in Cucumber Sage (full-size), Jivi Exfoliating Face Wash in Eucalyptus Mint, Fred + Far Greeting Card and Trillion Pin (full-size), as well as a WooBamboo Standard Adult Soft Toothbrush (full-size).

I went a little outside of my comfort zone this month by selecting the Elate Cosmetics Gold Liquid Eyeliner. I don’t really wear eyeliner and if I do I certainly don’t wear liquid, but this looked so beautiful online that I couldn’t pass it up. It looks like liquid gold. It looked that way online but it actually looks that way in person, too. Who can say no to rocking a little liquid gold on their eyes, especially at this time of year? I picked it out with the intention of using it on my inner corners for a little pop of glam, or using it all over the lid for a little something extra. So, I’m not going to use it for its intended purpose (are you kidding? Me? Trying to use a liquid liner with my tremor?) but I’m certainly going to use it as often as possible.  It doesn’t smudge or flake away! The tube is also lovely.

The second item I selected in from Pangea Organics. This brand is one that my Mom absolutely loves so I just had to go for the Brazilian Brown Sugar with Brown Sugar Body Scrub for her. Remember how I said, last month, that I love picking one item for me and one for her? I love sharing the Goodbeing goodies! I tried it first, though, because how could I pass on this? You get 2 ounces of this scrub in a substantial, weighty tub and it smells divine. It’s also a pleasure to use! It is exfoliating and softening, all that you could ever want in a body scrub.

I’ve never actually heard of Jivi before so it’s awesome to be introduced to a new brand. The company itself sounds incredible because for every bottle purchased they donate a meal through food banks across the country to a person in need in your community. And, their products are so natural that they’re edible! I won’t use the Exfoliating Face Wash in Eucalyptus Mint, even though it sounds nice, but the Moisturizer with Sun Protection in Cucumber Sage intrigues me. One of my resolutions for this past year was to finish products completely before opening a new one, because as a beauty blogger I sometimes have multiples on the go at any given moment and some things end up going bad, so I won’t try this one until I’m done with the current moisturizer I’m using but I’ll let you know how it goes. It has great ingredients and it smells nice from what I can tell without opening it.

I love WooBamboo toothbrushes. I worked with them earlier this year and did many giveaways, so I think a lot of you are now fans, too, from what you’ve told me!

Fred + Far is all about self-love and commitment to yourself and the last two items I received are from there. The Trillion pin is all about shining bright, like the diamond you are while the All of You, That’s What I love Greeting Card is a great reminder for someone you love, or even yourself. You can mail it out or keep it on the fridge. I really love the design.

Altogether, my box came to a total of at least $50. I say at least because I didn’t receive a card for the Jivi products so I’m not sure how much the face wash sample is worth.

You can also find Goodbeing on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

And if you’re already a member I would love to know what you received so be sure to leave a comment below.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - November 2017 Goodbeing + Black Friday

I can’t believe we are almost already through November. The end of the year always seems to go so quickly, doesn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to the holiday season, so I have no complaints. But it really does seem like just yesterday that I was writing about the October Goodbeing box but here we are, talking about the November box and the goodies I received. Make sure you read through to the bottom because I’m also sharing the Goodbeing Black Friday Deals… and they’ve never had a discount like this before so it’s a pretty cool deal!

Anyway, here’s the quick breakdown of Goodbeing for anyone new to Beautiful Basics who missed the last review or are simply unfamiliar with the monthly beauty and/or lifestyle subscription box. You can sign up for the month to month plan or purchase a 6-month subscription (this option allows you to save a little bit of money). From there, you can choose either the Standard plan or the Mini plan. With the Mini Goodbeing you’ll receive 2 items per month, either 2 travel size or a full size plus a deluxe sample. This plan has an average value of $15-$20 but will vary month to month. The Standard plan has an average monthly value of $40-$50 and comes with 4-5 items per month in a mix of sizes that can be full size or deluxe sample sized. You can also choose either the Beauty box or the Lifestyle box. And as an extra (awesome) perk you get to choose 1 or 2 items yourself each month. You can truly customize your Goodbeing experience to make it what you want it to be.

This month I received: Au Naturale The Anywhere Creme Blush Stick in the shade Adrenaline (my selection), Alima Pure Indigo Eyeliner Pencil (my other choice), Yarok Feed Your Ends, K Voss Nourish MagiK Shimmer Body Lotion, and Plaine Products Body Wash.

My favorite feature of Goodbeing is that I get to choose 1 or 2 of the products I receive in each monthly box. I always know that I’ll at least really enjoy a product or two and this month I am especially in love with the items I selected.

The Anywhere Crème Blush Stick by Au Naturale is formulated so beautifully that it’s absolutely perfect. I am head over heels in love with this gorgeous product. We received deluxe samples in a 3g glass jar instead of the actual 9g stick form the blush usually comes in, but I am really impressed with both the hefty jar and the size. I have a feeling that this product will last a very long time, even with very frequent use. I chose the shade Adrenaline, described as a vivid pink with magenta undertones, but subscribers had many different color options to pick from. I adore these bright pinkish blue shades for the winter. They give my light skin this lovely just in from the cold kind of look and I have already worn this organic, vegan, cruelty-free and completely ethical blush 4 times since I received it last week. I’ve also been using it on my lips and it lasts a crazy long time with no touchups needed. I am so, so happy with this little beauty!

The Alima Pure Indigo Eyeliner Pencil is probably the prettiest blue eyeliner I have ever seen in my life, and I’ve tried my fair share. This shimmering, rich blue eyeliner is so smooth and easy to use. It lasts well and looks gorgeous on.

I haven’t used the Plaine Products Body Wash yet because I’ve put it into my travel stash, but it smells insanely good. It smells of mint and vanilla and comes in the coolest eco-responsible, returnable, refillable and reusable aluminum bottles.

The K Voss Nourish MagiK Shimmer Body Lotion is so cool. It looks so beautiful and I was excited about it but unfortunately it smells too strong for me, and my extremely sensitive nose. If you know me from my blog at all you know that I am extremely sensitive to any smells at all, natural or not, and this is scented to sandalwood essential oil that just doesn’t work for me. This is a full size, though, and it really is gorgeous.

The last product I received is YAROK’s Feed Your Ends. This is a detangler, heat protector and leave-in conditioning spray. I’ve actually worked with YAROK in the past, trying their line, and this product just isn’t for me.

This awesome box has a value of $75. The whole point of subscription boxes is to find some new products you fall in love with and I absolutely have with this one. This box was a big win for me! And I just want to remind you that I’ll be putting everything that didn’t work for me into a giveaway for you. It’s a win-win situation!

As for the Black Friday deals, from November 23rd-Nov 27th:
  • - Anyone who shops (you don't have to be a member) Standard Goodbeing Gift Memberships will automatically get a 20% discount
  • - Regular Members will get 30% off Standard Goodbeing Gift Memberships
(Discount is not applicable to regular memberships or mini gifts.)
Both of these deals will be limited until they run out!

Also, if you are on their email list you will get early access to the special offers code on Wednesday via email.

Talk About Subscription Boxes - October 2017 Goodbeing

I know a lot of you reading this right now absolutely adore subscription boxes (and I do, too!) because you’re always asking me to talk about more of them on Beautiful Basics. If you’re a fan like I suspect you might be then you’ll love today’s post because we’re talking about Goodbeing and, more specifically, the October box!

If you’ve been with me for a while you know I was previously a Goodbeing Ambassador and I’m back at it, once again. So, for at least the next 2 months I’ll be reviewing the boxes I receive. And please, if you’re a subscriber, share what you got in yours in the comments. I would love to know what you got in your box!

If you’re unfamiliar with Goodbeing I’ll give you a quick breakdown of the service. Goodbeing is a monthly beauty and/or lifestyle subscription box. You can sign up for the monthly plan (where you pay month to month) or purchase a 6-month subscription (this option allows you to save a little bit of money). You can choose either the Goodbeing Standard plan or the Goodbeing Mini plan. With the Mini Goodbeing you’ll receive 2 items per month, either 2 travel size or a full size plus a deluxe sample. This plan has an average value of $15-$20 but this will vary month to month. The Standard plan has an average monthly value of $40-$50 and comes with 4-5 items per month is a mix of sizes that can be full size/deluxe sample sized or full sized. You can also choose either the Beauty box or the Lifestyle box.

First off, I want to start by saying what I most love about Goodbeing is that subscribers now get to pick 1 or 2 of the products they receive each month and I think that is just the coolest! I struggle with surprises. I know that’s weird, but I like to know details in advance so being able to pick an item or two before receiving the box is awesome. And, at least I know I’ll like two of the items if the rest don’t work out for me. Although, when you sign up for Goodbeing you get to fill out a questionnaire that lets you tell them what you like and don’t like so you get a much more personalized box each month.

So, here’s what I received in my box:
Orglamix Color Correcting Cream in Miracle Worker
St. Tropica Ultimate Hair Mask
AfterSpa Ultra Light and Eye Contouring Sleep Mask
Borika Body Mandarin + Cacao Body Scrub
Modicum Skincare Essential Face Serum

The first item I selected and want to talk about is the Orglamix Color Correcting Cream in Miracle Worker. Orglamix has 5 different color correctors to target and tackle any problem you may have, from dark undereye circles to fatigued or sallow skin, broken capillaries and everything in between, but I selected this one because of the claims that it can camouflage imperfections and brighten while helping to erase the signs of aging. I wanted this to conceal my fine lines, singular age spot, and blur my skin. I really like this formula! It’s intensely illuminating and can almost act like more of a glossy looking highlight. It makes my skin look so beautifully dewy and healthy. I really like it. It doesn’t have much tint to it but I really enjoy mixing this with other products to get an effortlessly lustrous and illuminated look.

The other product I chose is the St. Tropica Ultimate Hair Mask. Selecting this product was kind of cheating the system because I truly believe the whole point of beauty subscription boxes is to try new products, but I’ve had this one before and I really enjoyed it the first time around. I wanted to treat my hair so I chose this luxurious hair mask made of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Biotin, Organic Horsetail, Organic Amla, Organic Hibiscus, Organic Green Tea, Organic Coconut Butter, Organic Coconut Fruit Extract. I really like this rich, thick, and strengthening hair mask. I have such fine, thin hair that I actually get two uses out of the package and my hair is actually falling out from medication and this has already made my hair seem a lot stronger and look a lot healthier.

I’m a connoisseur of eye masks. I love them! And this AfterSpa Ultra Light and Eye Contouring Sleep Mask is excellent.  I love the shape of this. It truly blocks out all light without squishing your eyeballs or the bridge of your nose. It’s also incredibly soft, lightweight and extremely comfortable. In fact, it’s the absolute most comfortable eye mask I’ve ever had. It has an adjustable velcro strap so it will fit everyone with no issue. I’ve seen others receiving patterns and/or different shades but I got a plain black one and I’m very happy with it.

I did receive two products that I can’t personally use. One is the Borika Body Mandarin + Cacao Body Scrub and the other is the Modicum Skincare Essential Face Serum. The body scrub went to Mom who loves scrubs and any scents that are citrusy and she likes this one. The Serum has way too strong of a scent for me so it is going into a giveaway pile and will eventually go to one of you.

I call loving 3 out of 5 products a huge win and I’m really thrilled with this box. I have already chosen my products for next month and can’t wait to see what else I receive. And, if you’re interested in signing up now is the time!

Just FYI, my hand is up in the air, and I’m betting many of you are in the same boat. My favorites from this particular box are definitely the MyChelle Sun Shield Clear Stick SPF 50, which came at the perfect time to take to the lake and camping, and the St. Tropica Ultimate Hair Mask, which was used immediately and made my hair feel really luxe and healthy. With a value of over $55 this box is definitely worth the $18 (or less) price tag.

May Goodbeing Review + GIVEAWAY

So…. I’m not really in love with my May Goodbeing box. I know, sad. It’s okay, though, because it’s bound to happen at some point in time, right? Not every single person receiving a subscription box will be totally happy with it, but there is always the potential for the next box to be incredible.

I said this last month, too, but I’m not really sure how this box was customized based on my preferences. I can’t handle any smell and every single item, with the exception of the mascara (which I love!), has a pretty strong scent.

If you’re unfamiliar with Goodbeing here’s a quick breakdown – Goodbeing is a customizable subscription service with several different plans to choose from. You can purchase a subscription or a single box for yourself or as a gift for someone else. Depending on which plan you purchase you can pay as little as $18 for a subscription or $21 per box if you would prefer to pay as you go. Each month you will receive 4-5 trial-sized (and sometimes even full sized) products that have been selected for you based on your member profile. You get to tell Goodbeing exactly what you like and dislike in the in depth survey you are asked to fill out when you sign up. You can specify scents you like and dislike, particular shades of cosmetics you’re interested in, and what your skin is like.

You can also check out my past Goodbeing reviews by clicking on the month – December, January, February, March, and April.

This month I received:
Pacifica Dream Big Mascara
Province Apothecary Replenishing + Enhancing Eye Serum
Board & Batten Regenerating Steam - Herbal Facial with Vitamin E Serum
Green & Gorgeous Organics Lavender Dry Shampoo
Moondani Naturals Breath Spray

Pacifica actually sent me their Dream Big Mascara a couple of months ago (check out my review by clicking here) and it’s become my absolute favorite. This magical tube of mascara, alone, retails for $16. You have to try it for yourself. It’s good stuff!

As for everything else, it’s a no go for me. The Breath Spray will be going to my Dad. I can’t try anything else but that means each of these items will be going towards the next natural beauty bag giveaway that I host so it’s a win for you guys!

I’m going to try to fix my profile to hopefully get things I can fall in love with next month.

If you're interested in signing up for Goodbeing you can click here to receive a free bonus item in your first box! If you want the chance to win a Goodbeing box use the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Open only to those of you in the US. All entries will be verified. Good luck!
