Fall is here and I'm already in love with the gorgeous colors of autumn, the cool breeze, warm and comfy clothing, and curling up with a good book and a cup of tea underneath a fuzzy blanket. I haven't always been a fan of fall but I have been converted and it is now my favorite season, or one of them anyway. I like 3 out of 4; guess which one I don't like! I like to boil rosemary leaves into a dark, concentrated tea and then add it to Dr. Bronners liquid castille soap (peppermint, almond, or unscented) for a super invigorating shampoo!

ReplyDeleteI have a mild case our eczema and during the winter my skin (especially forehead) gets dry. I use 100% pure african shea butter (very little) to keep my skin soft and it lasts throughout the day. I use a tad on my lips too;)
ReplyDeleteThe biggest change to my beauty routine in the cooler months is to my skincare routine. I use creamer cleansers and richer moisturizers to keep my skin hydrated and protected from the cool air.

ReplyDeleteWhen the winter comes, I always make sure to be stocked up with moisturizer to prevent outbreaks...I like to use Aveno's moisturizing lotion because I am so sensitive to many others!

ReplyDeleteOne tip would be to use rosewater once in awhile, it helps to keep your face fresh and blemish free. When the weather turns colder, I use less foundation since my face looks better naturally in the colder months.

ReplyDeleteWhen it gets colder my skins needs a lot more moisture! My hands and face get moisturized more often. I tend not to wear makeup if I am not going out so I can "tend to" my face several times a day.

ReplyDeleteAfter I wash my hair, I pour cool tea over it. I prefer a fragrant blend as it smells yummy and makes me happy, but I do not think the brand or blend and all that really matter.
From what I have read, this practice also helps with dandruff.

ReplyDeleteI have short and thin eyelashes and recently have seen a visible stronger and thicker eyelashes. I mixed a spoon of vaseline, a spoon of castor oil and a spoon of olive oil together, then washed out an old mascara tube and put the liquid in there, applying it to my lashes before bed.
ReplyDeleteSince the weather's getting colder my skin's getting dryer as well as my hair. I've been forcing myself to drink water, which I'm terrible at, and been putting olive oil in my hair every other day.
When the weather gets colder I break out the chapstick & lotion/body butter. I also change my shampoo and body wash seasonally. I'll use mint in the summer and warming spices in the winter.
ReplyDeleteOnce the weather gets a bit colder, I definitely moisturize a lot more! Its really difficult to stay on a good schedule with a full time job and kids! My best beauty tip is to stay proactive and make yourself a priority! Its so easy for us to get lost in our families and jobs. Make time for yourself:)

ReplyDeleteer.... I'm terrible at a beauty routine. I don't think I really have one! Mainly I moisturise a few times a day because y skin is so dry, I don't really wear make-up everyday to allow my skin to breathe, so I guess I don't need too much of a routine! before I go to bed I put a small amount of olive oil in my hair and castor oil over my eyelashes.

Currently I use E.L.F. make-up, Giovanni shampoo & conditioner, Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap as body wash, Primal Pit Paste deoderant, Kiss My Face toothpaste and natural olive oil lotion.

ReplyDeleteI've had the same beauty routine since I was a kid: morning-wash my face and put on face cream with spf, night-wash my face, cleanse with toner, and put on non-spf daytime lotion. Its not a fancy system, but it works great for me. I like to try different face washes, lotions, and toners.
