Talk About It - Soulstice Nail Colour

I absolutely love getting to share healthier nail polish brands with you all. So many of you have expressed how much you love shiny, colorful nails but commercial nail polishes are packed with super scary ingredients. Thankfully there are companies like Soulstice Spa who has a roster of gorgeous vegan, non-toxic, 5-FREE, and cruelty-free polishes that are made in the USA.

I’ve talked about Soulstice in the past (here, here, and here) but they just launched some beautiful brand new beauties all inspired by towns in Northern California. The whole collection is so stunning and I think you’ll all really love the selection.

I received six of their latest shades:

Belvedere Described as Deep Sea Blue

Bolinas Described as Seaside Rose

Inverness – Described as Forest Green-Gray

Marshall – Described as Chocolate Shine

Olema – Described as Seashell

Point Reyes – There is no description of this shade on the website but I would call it a pretty, creamy peachy tan shade.

Each and every one of these polishes goes on so smoothly and evenly. Soulstice has such a great formula and I love how simple it is to get the type of coverage you want in one or two swipes. The bottle shape is easy to hold and the brush is easy to use. The formula lasts well on the nails and is easy to remove when you’re ready to take it off and try another color.

Other colors that have caught my eye: San Rafael, KenwoodStinson Beach and Fairfax

Each glass bottle comes with .43 fl oz of polish and comes in at $12.

To learn more about Soulstice or to check out their shade selection you can visit their website. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Talk About Nail Polish - JoShik

I don’t know what it is about nail polish but there’s something about it that makes me really happy. It could possibly be because there are so many stunning nail polish shades or the fact that it’s an easy way to express yourself with a pop of color or the fact that it’s just super fun. However; traditional nail polish can be full of scary, toxic ingredients. These days, though, there are healthier, cruelty-free options on the market that pack just as much punch without the chemicals.

JoShik (pronounced Jo-Chic) polish is a Chicago company offering safer and gorgeous polish options. JoJo Shiku, a wife and mother who also happens to be a health enthusiast, created the line of vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic polishes after first becoming pregnant and realizing that traditional nail polish is full of health-altering ingredients.  After doing her research she launched a line of products free from Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Camphor, and Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP). In other words, JoShik products are luxurious but nontoxic.

254 is described as a Cosmo Pink Crème and it’s so, so pretty. This is the exact kind of color that I adore and can’t get enough. The formulation of this particular pink is perfect. I mean it, it’s perfect! The ease of application is incredible and the polish is so smooth and beautiful. The shine! So pretty!

I’m beyond impressed with JoShik polish, and absolutely adore 254. Any polish that is this foolproof and easy to apply that looks as good as this one is a big time winner in my book!

You can learn more about JoShik and their other shades and products by visiting their website. You can also find JoShik on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Talk About It - Pacifica 7 Free Nail Color Trio

All Pacifica products are cruelty-free and vegan and it’s pretty obvious by now that I really like a lot of their products so it’s no shock that I’m also a fan of their 7 free nail polish. Sometimes less toxic nail polishes tend to be hard to apply, streaky, or not very opaque, but their polishes are super!

Not only are they healthier, eco and animal friendly but they also go on beautifully and look heavenly after a single coat. I’m not great at painting my super short nails but this formula was so easy to use! It went on smoothly and didn’t bubble or become patchy in any way shape or form. One coat gave me flawless and opaque color (on Super Fox and Midnight Rambler, Star Dust Memories makes a great polish topper or two layer polish) that looks absolutely beautiful on the nails.

This trio features the shades Midnight Rambler, Super Fox, and Star Dust Memories. I’m actually a pink, orange and coral lovin’ lady so I wasn’t sure I would love these colors but it turns out that I really do. These shades are really pretty.

Super Fox is a really gorgeous teal shade with silver shimmer.

Midnight Rambler is a deep midnight blue
and Star Dust Memories is a silvery gray shimmer.

Again, please forgive my terrible application but hopefully you can get a good feel for the colors and the formula.

Another thing to note is that Midnight Rambler was a bit hard to remove. I had to scrub my nails a little more than with the others but eventually got it all off.

Check out Pacifica’s website or you can find them on Ulta.com (and in stores). You can also follow Pacifica on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Talk About Nail Polish - mint

There are a lot of nail polish brands out there with fabulous color ranges and formulas that are smooth and easy to work with but I think I may have recently discovered the polish of my dreams. If you haven't heard of mint, you need to head over to their website and add some beautiful shades to your online shopping cart. Talk about creamy, dreamy, and oh so gorgeous! If you're looking for high quality, vegan and cruelty free nail color without toxic chemicals then you're going to absolutely love this Californian brand.

Please remember that I'm not a nail polish blogger, nor am I very good at painting my nails but I have fun trying and wanted to show you all these awesome polishes even though my cuticles are a mess.

Check out this amazing and super stunning polish called Moonlit Stroll! I'm beyond in love. Do you blame me? I mean, seriously! Look at it! It's beautiful and I feel like it's really flattering with my skin tone. I think it would look great on many different skin tones. It's a whimsical and wearable shade. It's a beautiful and very feminine cross between nude and mauve with a lovely gold shimmer throughout. The formula is beautiful and so easy to work with. I think this may be my favorite polish of all time, or at least very near the top of the list.

Sweet Liberty is the perfect color to tock on tips and toes this summer. I think this particular polish was made to go hand in hand with sunshine and sandals. It's a beautiful creamy bright orange red that just screams warm weather, vacation, and lounging by the pool. I always have a really hard time using crème colors but this one has an excellent formula that is opaque with only one coat.

When I opened the box and saw Peligroso, I wasn't sure I would like it but I'm happy to say that I actually really enjoy the color and the formula. It's a bright orange with a really fun and interesting shimmer in it. The shimmer can look orange, gold, yellow and green depending on the light. The formula is like a jelly polish and is really awesome and easy to use. The color and shimmer build beautifully.

The final polish I was sent is called Tart, which is a really pretty yellow crème. I honestly could not make this one look good on me. The color didn't really work on me and I couldn't get the formula to apply smoothly onto my nail. Remember how I said I usually had a hard time with crème polish? Well, this just cemented that theory. I do think it's a really gorgeous color though!

Also worth a mention are the simple yet beautiful box and glass bottle these polishes are housed in.

If you want to check out mint's shade range or learn more about the company and their product offerings you ca visit their website. You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Want to know which shades are on my nail polish wish list? Original Mint, Ming, Slumber Party, Dirty Shirley, and Bouquet Toss! Which shades are you coveting?

Talk About It - SpaRitual

I don't know about you but I think there is something really whimsical and magical about sparkle and glitter. Anything that glints and gleams is sure to catch my eye and if you're the same way then you'll want to keep reading because I've got three fabulous glittering, shimmering nail polishes from SpaRitual to talk about.

Let's start with some basic facts about the company and their products, shall we? SpaRitual polishes are vegan and formulated without DBP, toulene, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin. The coolest part about these polishes (other than how gorgeous they are!) is the fact that they don't feel awkward and rough on the nail. Some glitters have a tendency to feel share and snag on fabric but not these ones. They can be applied in a thin layer to add a little something extra to an already painted nail or built up to be more opaque.

Snow Globe is a Glitter Top Effect and is a lovely iridescent mix of gold shimmer and white glitter chunks. It would look gorgeous on top of any shade and add a fun snowy look to any polish.

Beyond Love is my absolute favorite. It's so eye-catching! It's a polish made up of chunky pink glitter. I actually think that Beyond Love works well on its own if it's built up. I used 3 coats and didn't need anything underneath, although you can always apply it in a thin layer over another polish to get a multi-faceted effect.

Home is a combination of teal, silver, and gold glitter pieces. I think it would look fantastic with a multitude of different polishes – gold, teal, white, silver! Every time I look at it I think Mardi Gras. I'm not really sure why that is but it's a beautiful glitter that would work all year round.

Now, this next polish isn't a glitter but it by now you've probably noticed that Pantone's Color of the Year, Marsala, is everywhere. Marsala is described as a naturally robust and earthy wine red shade. It's the hottest hue on the planet right now and if you're on the hunt for the perfect must-have nail lacquer you might want to check out SpaRitual's Fall in Love. It's the perfect shimmery shade that is the right mix of red and brown. It's a classic and wearable color that will flatter so many different skin tones.

These polishes are healthy, stunning, and fun to use and wear! Do you have your eye on any of these or any other SpaRitual polishes?

Talk About It - Pomegranate Nail Lacquer Royal Fairy Tale Collection

Last Halloween I posted a review of Pomegranate Nail Lacquer and my thoughts on a couple of their fall collection polishes and now it's time to talk about their most recent collection. The company recently launched 14 new lovely shades in a collection entitled the Royal Fairy Tale Collection. The polishes in this collection are fit for any princess and I'm so excited to share with you!

I was given the opportunity to choose 2 of the Royal Fairy Tale polishes to review and let me tell you how difficult it was to pick. Each and every color in this collection is stunning and it was nearly impossible but in the end I went for Book of Spells and Storm the Castle.

I have a feeling I will be wearing Book of Spells and spring and summer because I love it so much! The company describes this polish on their website as a "rich bronze metallic foil". It's so beautiful! I've never worn a shade like this before but it's so gorgeous I don't ever want to take it off. It's everything I dreamed it would be. The formula is divine. It goes on smoothly and easily. It also wears well and has a lovely high shine finish.

The other shade I ended up choosing is Storm the Castle, which is described as a "deep, cloudy teal-grey jelly". This color is so, so pretty but unfortunately it's not very flattering with my pale skin. I also found it a little harder to work with than the other Pomegranate polishes I have tried. It is unbelievably shiny which makes me appreciate it more but I'm just not sure this particular polish is for me. I will, however, try it again once my skin gets a bit of color in the warmer months.

As always, I want to point out that there is no such thing as truly natural nail polish but Pomegranate Nail Lacquers are healthier and safer since they are 4-free (meaning no toluene, formaldehyde, DBP or camphor) and cruelty free. Another important selling point is that their polish is made in the USA and retails for $8.50.

Aslo, if you're interested in picking up a bottle of any of these colors for yourself you might want to act quickly because all Pomegranate Nail Lacquers are available in limited quanities.

To learn more about the company or to purchase your choice of polish you can visit Pomegranate Nail Lacquers website. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Talk About It - Pomegranate Nail Lacquer

Happy Halloween Beauties! I have another nail polish review for you today. I recently discovered Pomegranate Nail Lacquer and I absolutely love their shades and formulations. Pomegranate Nail Lacquers are 4-free (meaning no toluene, formaldehyde, DBP or camphor) and cruelty free. Another important selling point is that their polish is made in the USA and retails for $9.

I always talk about how there is no such thing as natural nail polish and I couldn't have said it any better than Pomegranate did on their website, "Our nail polish contains the same ingredients as many brands that claim to be organic, vegan, natural or eco-friendly. We prefer not to use these terms to describe our brand as we believe they can be misleading. The industry strives to make nail polish that is as safe as possible, but it's still a long way from being natural!"

Before I get into talking about the individual polishes I picked out I want to talk about the formula. The formula of both polishes I tried is incredibly smooth, easy to apply, and flawless. The formula is neither thick nor thin, which makes it a dream to apply. I have also found that Pomegranates nail polish is superbly longwearing. I also really appreciate the high-shine finish that each of these polishes have.

I got to pick out two polishes, both of which are from their newest collection for fall. The Fall 2012 Collection features 7 stunning shades that are perfect for Autumn, one of which is named after the season itself. Autumnesque is a gorgeous golden pinky copper color. It's a bit hard to describe since it's so unique. The hue of this polish is reminiscent of the changing leaves of the season. I knew I had to try this one when I saw it on the website. I believe this particular polish will look amazing on all skin tones since it's super flattering!

The other shade I picked is Improv Show, which is a dark purple with multicolored shimmer. Inside each bottle of Improv Show lies tons and tons of blue, pink, and silver shimmer. The base color of this polish is the most perfect purple for fall and the shimmer adds something extra special to the mix. I don't usually gravitate towards polishes like this but have fallen madly in love with this one. I've been wearing it on my toes since it arrived in the mail. Improv Show is the perfect mixture of Vampy, feminine, classic and trendy.

To learn more about the company or to purchase your choice of polish you can visit Pomegranate Nail Lacquers website. You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.

I hope that no matter what your plans are for this evening that you stay safe and warm while having tons of fun. I'm planning on staying home and watching spooky movies all night! See you all soon!

Talk About It - Soulstice Nail Colour

It's officially fall which means Soulstice Spa has launched 4 new nail colours named after cities around the world like Napa (a classic red with golden undertones), Nevis (a bright green), and St. Barts (liquid teal). I got to try one of the new shades, as well as one of the older ones.

If you missed my previous reviews of their polishes (which you can read here & here) or are unfamiliar with Soulstice, I would like to take this moment to introduce you to my absolute favorite nail polish. Soulstice Nail Colour is 100% Vegan, cruelty free, non-toxic, 3-free (meaning it does not contain toluene, formaldehyde, or dibutyl phthalate), gluten free and made in the United States. The company also donates a portion of all proceeds to non-profit social and environmental organizations.

In addition to all of the amazing things I mentioned above, the formula of each and every Soulstice polish I have tried is nothing short of amazing. These polishes are easy to work with and apply, long wearing, and totally gorgeous. I seriously cannot say enough good things about Soulstice and their phenomenal nail varnishes.

The new shade I got to test out is called Santa Monica. At first glance Santa Monica just looks like a pretty light purple shade but upon closer inspection it is a soft lavender shade with tons of fun pearlescent sparkle. It's absolutely gorgeous and has so much personality to it. I love the fact that the shimmer can appear purple, pink, blue or white at any given second but sadly it didn't turn out in the photos I took.

(Right - Indoor Light with 2 coats. Left - Natural Light with 2 coats.)

The other shade I got to play with is Cassis, which is my new go-to shade for fall. Cassis is a gorgeous blackberry shade with a very subtle metallic silver shimmer. I really need to learn how to take better nail polish photos because Cassis is so much prettier in person!

I adore everything about Soulstice Nail Colours and highly recommend you check them out. They have so many gorgeous shades and such a wonderful formula. On my to-buy list are Napa, Monterey, and Kyoto. What colors do you have on your wish list?

Talk About It - Soulstice Spa Spring Shades

My favorite nail polish brand Soulstice Spa recently released four gorgeous new shades in honor of spring and I was lucky enough to receive two of them to try and review. If you read my review from a couple of months ago about Soulstice you probably remember how much I love these nail varnishes!

Soulstice Nail Colour is 100% Vegan, cruelty free, non-toxic, 3-free (doesn't contain toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate), and made in the United States. The company also donates a portion of all proceeds to non-profit social and environmental organizations. They have a wide variety of colors so there is undauntedly something for everyone, including the on trend new releases.

All of their polishes are named after cities around the globe and the newbies are no exception. The two I didn't receive (but I think I'm going to purchase) are called Kauai, a rich berry pink with gold shimmer, and St. Tropez, a shimmery nude. The two I received are Cape Cod and Harbour Island.

Cape Cod is described as "a delicate pearlescent blue-grey" and I agree! It's absolutely gorgeous and totally reminds me of Cape Cod (even though I've never been there) and sailing. It's a perfect shade for spring and summer. Blue is one of my favorite colors but I tend to avoid it for my digits because I actually have blue and/or purple extremities (a side effect of my illness) but this doesn't make my feet and hands look dead, which is a huge plus!

Harbour Island is stunning. It's described as "pink sands; a sugary pastel". It's a super shimmer sheer shade of peachy pink and it's very feminine and flattering. As far as glittery polishes go it's one of my new favorites. It is very reminiscent of something sweet and sugary like cotton candy and I really love it. It looks wonderful indoors or out and shimmers and shines beautifully in the sun.

If you're interested in checking out Soulstice for yourself you can visit them online. Each polish retails for $8 or you can purchase a pack of five for $30. You can also find them on Facebook.

Talk About It - Soulstice Nail Colour

I'm back with another glorious nail polish review, starring Soulstice Nail Colour. This nail polish is 100% Vegan, cruelty free, non-toxic, 3-free (doesn't contain toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate), and made in the United States. The company also donates a portion of all proceeds to non-profit social and environmental organizations. In addition to all of the great things I just mentioned this polish comes in 30 different shades so there will be something for everyone!

I got to try two of their lovely nail polish shades and I absolutely adore both of them. I didn't get to choose my shades but I was so pleasantly surprised when the packaged arrived! I couldn't have picked two better polish colors. All of their polishes are named after large cities across the globe, and I received London and Venice.

Both are gorgeous but I would say the London is my favorite. They describe it as a vibrant, modern rose and I think that is the perfect description. It works great on both fingers and toes and is appropriate for any time or event. It is stunning! It almost acts like a neutral but it's got a touch of glamour and a multi-faceted personality.

Venice is described as a rich gold, and that it is! It looks just like liquid gold. I can't wait to wear this all summer long because I know it will look amazing with a tan. My photos do these polishes absolutely no justice.

The wear and application of Soulstice Nail Colour is phenomenal. Both shades I have glide onto the nail with little effort and last for days without chipping. I'm deeply impressed with these polishes and can't wait to check out more!

The company, Soulstice Spa, also sells body care and accessories.

Talk About It - Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish

I love anything that shimmers and shines as well as anything glitzy and glamorous – I have a feeling that I'm not alone so today is all about Dr.'s Remedy Enriched Nail Polish!

Let me start off by saying that there is no such thing as 100% natural nail polish, only smarter and safer formulations. Dr.'s Remedy is a safe and enriched nail polish that was created by two doctors who are both board certified podiatrists who care about their patients and the products they use. Both Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel are skilled surgeons who realized the top concern with their patients is brittle and discolored nails that is often associated with the harsh chemicals that can be found in commercial nail polish.

Dr. Cirlincione's wife was pregnant and was advised against using hair dye, eating certain foods, and being exposed to harsh chemicals. This warning led the doctor to do some research on chemicals and toxins. Along with Dr. Spielfogel they created Dr.'s Remedy, which is 3 Free (formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP – which can cause some serious damage to ones health) and enriched with good for you ingredients like tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract, and wheat protein.

These enrichments help promote healthier and stronger nails and also provide anti-fungal properties so it won't cause any damage. Their nail polish come in a wide variety of gorgeous shades and is safe enough for anyone and everyone; including those who are extremely sensitive to traditional nail polish or chemicals in general.

I got so lucky because I got to try out their new seasonal collection Jolly and Joy. The collection is made up of 5 amazingly lovely and flattering festive shades perfect for the holiday season, and beyond.

ESSENTIAL Emerald is one of my favorite nail polishes, ever! I don't have anything like this shade and I just love the way it looks on my nails. It compliments my skin tone and applies like a dream. It wears well and I had no problem with chipping, although I only wore it for 2 days. This is such a gorgeous color that I can't get enough of! They describe it as "a take on the classic tree-and-plant-inspired gem of a shade, with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour".

RESOLUTION Red Glitter is my other favorite from the collection. This polish applies so well and looks great on the nails! The only drawback to this polish is the fact that glitter polishes are really difficult to remove, but everything else about this is perfect! It adds the perfect amount of glitter to the fingers without being too over the top. I feel like this polish would be appropriate for any situation because it's almost a nude pinkish-red color. They describe it as "a red meets copper spin that's sequin-look-alike laden with high shine and sparkle.

REVIVE Ruby Red is the most perfect red color that I've ever seen. It's absolutely perfect for fall and winter, and I think it would make a wonderful statement on the toes. It's deep yet feminine and pretty. It is described as "a shimmer-infused Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson.

SERENE Silver Glitter is so special and unique. It changes color in different lights and makes the nails look fancy, sort of like a perfectly pretty disco ball. It wasn't the best with my skin tone but that won't keep me from rocking it because it's so interesting! It's described as "a seasonal sizzler like no other: shine, chic, totally unique in the metallic scene."

PASSION Purple is last, but not least. It's "a bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout". It's not my favorite for fingernails but I have high hopes for how amazing it will look on my toes. This is my Mom's favorite of the collection though and it looks amazing on her. For whatever reason I had the hardest time applying this one. Don't get me wrong – it was still easy, just not as smooth as the others.

These nail polishes are fabulous, right? They're a little expensive at $17 each but I think they are totally worth it. I've never seen such lovely shades before. If you were only going to get one I would highly recommend either Resolution Red or Essential Emerald.

You should check them out on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Remedynails or on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#!/remedynails. If you're interested in owning these for yourself Dr.s' Remedy is sold exclusively at www.remedynails.com or by calling 877-323-NAIL.
